Anticipation...

Austin is well known for having the largest urban bat colony in the US, living in crevices underneath the Congress Avenue bridge in downtown Austin.  Around dusk, folks gather on the bridge to watch nearly 1.5 million bats emerge on their nightly food run.  It is quite a sight!  One of my photographer friends, Pete Talke, got a nice shot of the bats coming out, which was recently published in Texas Monthly.  Congrats Pete!  You can find that photo here:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/talkephotography/3657374956/

We were out on a dinner cruise, and I didn't bring my camera, so I actually took this shot with my iPhone. But I thought it came out pretty good!
