Under the pedestrian walkway

One morning earlier this summer, I went out on a solo photowalk in downtown Austin.  In addition to the light being good in the morning, you also don't have to deal with the extreme heat we have been experiencing.  The Colorado River runs through downtown, at which point it is known as Town Lake (and more recently, Lady Bird Lake).  Around the lake is a great hike and bike trail, which is usually crowded with exercisers of all sorts.  In the old days at Lamar Street, if you wanted to cross the lake, you had to deal with the old arched bridge you see in the distance.  It has narrow walkways on either side and feels somewhat suicidal when trying to walk across it. Now we have this awesome pedestrian only bridge, from under which this shot was taken at about 6:30am.  Sometimes progress really is progress.
