The morning after the bike rally

I took this shot back in June, right after the Republic of Texas bike rally that occurs here every summer.  Although I missed shooting during the rally, I got up early on Sunday morning and went downtown to get some shots.  I was wandering around 6th Street and saw this motorcycle there.  I liked the look of the scene and went ahead with an HDR.  You run into some interesting (read:strange) folks on 6th Street (our popular party street) early on a Sunday morning.  Most are not hungover - they are still intoxicated.  Oh, and they are usually homeless.  Needless to say, I was watching my back while walking around there with expensive camera gear.  One guy, looking completely wasted/dirty/homeless, approached me and seemed to want to be friends.  We chatted for a while, and he was pretty nice actually, but he hasn’t yet friended me on Facebook, so I have that going for me.

After processing this shot several different ways (sorta normal, sorta in-between, and this version which is a bit cooked), I just could not decide which version I should post.  So, I sat on it for a while, hoping that time and distance would give me some clarity.  Nope.  I still can’t decide, so what the heck, here is the somewhat over-the-top version, which I think that at this moment I like best.  My post-processing added some zest here and there, including some crazy stuff in the sky, but I left it as it seemed to fit with the rest of the image.  In reality the scene was a bit dirty and gritty, and I wanted to convey that in the image.  Hope you like it, or at least find it somewhat interesting.  Have a great day!
