The King's Gate at Kastellet

Kastellet, which sits near the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark is one of the best preserved fortifications in Northern Europe.  It is constructed in the shape of a pentagram and was originally started back in the 1600's. The King's Gate sits on the south side of Kastellet and faces the city.  I came across it while wandering around the area near The Little Mermaid statue.  That's one thing I love about Europe - there is just so much history to explore, and you can find the neatest things just by wandering!
