The Arc de Triomphe

Ah, Paris!  What a wonderful city.  Our visit there was only about 5 days, but man did we ever squeeze in every drop of awesomeness possible!  It’s the sort of city where you go in with one plan to see a few key things, and end up seeing those and much more, because there is beauty everywhere and you find you can’t stop looking and exploring.  Or, at least that’s how I felt.

I wrote before how much I was taken with the city - much more so than I expected.  I can see why so many people rave about it.  It’s truly one of the world’s great cities, and is very high on the list of the ones I have visited.

One evening I headed over to the Arc de Triomphe for sunset.  My plan was to take some shots of the Arc from a few different angles, and I accomplished that - and more.  I ended up on the little concrete island where the Arc resides in the middle of the road, at the confluence of 12 streets.  But it’s easy to get to, since there is an underground tunnel.

Anyways, it was sunset, and there was great light, and I was in Paris, and I was firing brackets at one of the world’s most famous monuments - so all in all, a pretty good evening!
