St Paul St Louis Church

There’s just something special about Paris, though I am not the first to note that.  Maybe the second.  ;-)  But I just found so many wonderful things to photograph there, and I crammed in as much as I could in 5 days.

This church is in the Marais district and was near the apartment we rented.  We would walk to the Metro station, and I kept seeing this church, although it was difficult to ascertain much about it as only the front facade is exposed to the street.  But it’s a grand facade, so I felt sure the inside would be worth a look.  Finally curiosity got the best of me one day, and I walked in.

WOW!

I’m really glad that I did, because it is incredible.  Although I took a couple of snaps on that visit, I vowed to come back and do it justice when I had a little more time.  It was on our last day in Paris that I took this shot.  Finally I had found the church mostly empty, and I fired away.  I’m glad I did.

By the way, the name of the church is St Paul St Louis and I have it listed here on the blog in my list of Top Photo Spots in Paris.
