The Musee d'Orsay
The Musee d’Orsay in Paris is beautiful. It used to be a train station, and if you have been here before you probably know that I love those. So, that adds to the beauty of this place, to my eye. But, this also houses an incredible collection of the world’s finest Impressionist works...there’s literally a famous painting at every turn. It’s a lot to digest.
But truthfully, I didn’t digest very much of it. We arrived only an hour or so before they closed, and opted to take a whirlwind tour of the place, since we didn’t know if we could make it back another day. I almost hate to admit it, but I am glad we did the whirlwind thing. I know some folks would kill to spend an entire day in a place like this, but I have a limited attention span for museums. I can only do so much before my brain gets overloaded and I lose interest.
So, we ran around and saw the highlights, and had a great time. The museum has a policy of no photographs, which is ridiculous to me, and I came real close to obeying it. But as I was leaving, I caught this view and couldn’t resist. Besides, there’s no harm in free advertising for them, is there?
