The Eiffel Tower from Trocadero
A fabulous (and famous!) view of the Eiffel Tower!
There is so much to see and photograph in Paris - it's quite literally a feast for the eyes. Everything is beautiful, pretty much no matter where you go. I love it, but at the same time it's a challenge because it's hard to get anywhere. A good challenge, mind you. :-)
One such example is the Eiffel Tower. Now I realize you have never heard of the Eiffel Tower, and thus have never seen a picture of it, so just let me tell you that it's pretty awesome. :-)
Yep, we all know it and love it, and it's (quite obviously) the most recognizable city symbol in the world. Or, at least I would think it is. It is a great symbol, and is photographed a LOT. I have personally taken dozens and dozens of pics of the Eiffel Tower on the 2 visits to Paris that I have made in the last few years, but this time I wanted to shoot it a little differently.
This time, I started over at The Trocadero.
You see, I had never shot it from there before. I guess my rides on the Metro have taken me to other stops that are a little closer, so this time I purposely rode to the Trocadero and got off the Metro there. I wanted to walk to the Eiffel Tower from here, shooting all the way - and I did.
As you can see, the skies were very cooperative that day. I do love a cloudy day, because I find clear blue skies incredibly boring. Clouds are good. Well, except when they drop a ton of rain on me. But no issues with that on this trip, thankfully!
So I did my usual thing - wander, shoot, shoot some more, wander a bit more, shoot so more. That's pretty much how it goes, and it's damn fun, especially in Paris.
I eventually made it across the River Seine to shoot the Eiffel Tower up close (and during blue hour that evening), but will have to share those photos another time. In fact, I still have hundreds of photos from this trip to Paris to process and share. This trip was in November of 2014 (last Fall), and I just realized I really haven't shared much from that trip.
That's one of my constant struggles. I shoot so much on each trip, but when I get home I only get a handful or two processed and shared, and then another trip comes up. Then I wind up forgetting about all the awesome stuff from the previous trip. So, I will get some more Paris stuff ready and share it next time, ok? OK! Happy to oblige.
