A walk in the woods

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday up in Oregon in a small cabin in the woods. It was fantastic and a great getaway from the normalcy of life. Of course, we wandered in said woods a bit and I brought my camera along as I tend to do. Here are a few images I captured while there, and interestingly I shot all of these in portrait/vertical orientation. I find myself doing that more and more these days. I think it is because I also use my iPhone a lot (though these are all shot with my Sony A7R3, and edited in Luminar Neo) and that’s how I often hold it. Regardless, using a vertical orientation is something that really works in a lot of landscapes. It’s a shame I’ve only really been doing it over the last couple of years as I am growing to like vertical shots a lot, and I find they tell a different story than ones shot horizontally.
