Most People Overlook This Powerful Sky Trick
In this tutorial (based on Luminar Neo, but applicable is any major editing app) I show you how I take a flat, dull sky and make it more dramatic. It’s quite easy to do, but many people overlook this approach. It’s based on using luminosity masks (which are in most major editing apps like Luminar Neo, On1 Photo RAW and Lightroom, among others) because they give you control over the various tonal areas present in the sky. So you can isolate specific tones (shadows and highlights, for example) and then add contrast to those areas only. It’s very powerful, gives you amazing control, and the results speak for themselves. Take a look and enjoy!
