Lots from London
I seriously enjoy going to London and taking photos - it's one of my favorite cities, and I find it rather beautiful. In fact, when I am there, I find it hard to sleep because I want to be out shooting so much! So in an effort to get more of my London shots "out there" for public consumption, here's 17 more that I hope you enjoy viewing as much as I enjoyed taking!
Prime time in Las Vegas
I went to Las Vegas a few weeks back, and one evening I put on the prime lens and fired away! It's a small but powerful little piece of glass, allowing me to shoot at f/1.7. So I fired away - handheld only - and came back with these 15 images that I am sharing today. Take a look and enjoy!
Going back in time in Salado, TX
How about some pictures of old automotive stuff? Sound cool? It is! It's awesome, in fact. This is a tiny little spot in a tiny little Texas town, but it packs a serious punch. Dive in and see all 12 pics, and prepare to step back in time with me!
Revealing the artist within
I love the Impressionists, and enjoy their work immensely. When Topaz Labs created Impression - a software product that helps you convert your photos to digital paintings in a very realistic way - I was very intrigued. Well I have used it for months now, and have found that it is having a profound impact on my photography. Today's post is all about that, and of course there are a BUNCH of my digital paintings included for your viewing pleasure. Hop on in!
Sunset silhouettes
When you find yourself in a fabulous city like New York, and it's sunset, and you have your camera with you - it's time to fire away! (hey Jim, that's obvious!)
But sometimes you get home and think about the shots you didn't take. That's ok, and it does happen. But it's also rewarding when you decide to change your habits and do something you never really do, and it works out great. Here's 6 pics from Central Park where I changed things up and it worked out great. Have a look!

Mornings in Denver
Here's a baker's dozen pics from one of my trips to Denver. I got up early and caught a magical sunrise, which made it all worthwhile. And by the way, these pics are from 5 years ago. Why am I sharing them now? Well, there are a couple of reasons, so click on in and have a read!
San Francisco scenes
San Francisco is a lovely city, and a great one for photography. Today's post is a little tour of a few spots that I have photographed there on my travels. A little bit of this and that, if you will. Take a look and enjoy the tour!
Explore the Elements
Today's blog post is a little different than my normal post - it's my entry in the Thomas Cook photo-blogging competition. It's something anyone can join, and it's rather fun, once you get started. So have a look and enjoy!
Getting busy in Las Vegas
Ah, Las Vegas - you are a photographic wonderland! There really is a lot to shoot there, if you can handle being there for more than 24 hours! I spent 3 days there recently, and came home with 1500 photos. So yeah, I guess I did ok. :-)
Take a look at these highlights of the trip, and let me know what you think of Sin City!
Sunset along the Promenade du Peyrou
It's hard to beat a great sunset. We all know that. But when you are in France and you get a great sunset? Well, that's something to write home about! Or in this case, write a blog post about. :-)
Here's a few pics to enjoy - and I sure hope you enjoy them. I definitely enjoyed being there and taking them!
Old photos, new results
Do you ever go back and re-process photos that you have previously shared? I do that sometimes, and find that it's a great creative exercise. But recently, I HAD to go back and re-create an old photo for a client, and it took me forever to make it look like how it looked when I first processed it, about 5 years ago. And so I learned a lot in the process - and I am sharing those learnings and my observations in today's post. Have a look!
Hanging with the tourists at Checkpoint Charlie
Have you ever been to Berlin? It's a lovely city, though I have only been there for about 6 hours, as I describe in today's post. But what a great 6 hours it was! One of the highlights was hanging out here at Checkpoint Charlie - so much history, and so interesting! Have a look!
A bit of this and that from Brussels
Here it is - a monster post about Brussels, Belgium! It's one of my favorite places - hey, it's famous for chocolate and beer, so what do you expect? I've got 20 photos in here, so click in for a look and have a read too. I ramble a bit about how these posts come about too, in case you were wondering. Anyways, hope you enjoy the photo tour of Brussels! It's a wonderful place!
Walking Circular Quay
Today's post is a collection of photos I took on the day I arrived in Sydney, Australia - after a 16 hour flight and no sleep. A little dreary but determined, I wandered down to Circular Quay and found lots of great stuff to photograph. Sometimes you just have to forget that you are tired and focus on getting out there and getting things done!
The simple beauty of the mountains
Today I wax a bit poetic about my love for the mountains. There's just something about them, in addition to the generous amounts of beauty and staggering landscapes. And of course I share a bunch of photos from a trip to the mountains last summer - when I caught some wonderful clouds over an alpine lake. Good times!
Hay's Galleria in London
I love architecture - a LOT! - and when I find something like this place, I'm pretty fired up. Here's a quick photo tour of Hay's Galleria in London. Just something I literally stumbled upon - and almost missed!
A bit of this and that from Dublin
Whiskey, bridges, a church and a jail - not your normal collection of shots! Today's post doesn't really follow a "theme" like many of mine do. This is rather just a group of shots from some of my trips to Dublin that I happened to have ready, but which don't necessarily all go together. But I think it does give you a nice tour of some cool spots around this lovely Irish town...so click on in and have a look!
Dining in the Musee d'Orsay (and musing about lovely Paris)
Paris is a beautiful city - that's basically an undisputed fact. But on my recent visit there, I found beauty in lots of unexpected places - including inside a cafe, inside the Musee d'Orsay museum. Here's a visual tour of the place, which is the home to many of the great works of the Impressionists. Enjoy!
Chasing a sunset down The Drag
Sometimes you find yourself in absolutely the wrong place when the sunset decides to get all awesome. It's a real drag, but hey what can you do about it? Well, I'll tell you what I do. I shoot like crazy. What if it's the best sunset you've seen in ages? You can't just pack it up and go home. Take the shot - you never regret it!
Sunrise in Montpellier
It's always hard to get up early for anything - even if it's something you love, like shooting sunrise. But then again, you can't shoot sunrise any other time of day except morning, so an early rise is sort of a requirement. So I did just that when I was in Montpellier, France a while back - and it was well worth it! And it was an amazing sunrise!
