Bits and bobs from London
Today I share some shots from various trips to London. I have been working to catch up on these things and move a little closer with today's post! London is a gorgeous city and I hope these photos help illustrate my love of it! Enjoy!
An evening in downtown San Antonio
I recently spent a couple of days in San Antonio, Texas and captured quite a few nice photos while I was there. Today's post is a group of 4 that I am rather fond of, all from downtown. It covers El Mercado and some spots along The Riverwalk - click on it and enjoy!
Split toning in Lightroom
I have been mentioning split toning in Lightroom here on the blog quite a bit lately, and it's because I have been really loving working with it and getting more comfortable with it. Now I am finally ready to share my thoughts and experiences with it. So today you get a mini tutorial on using Lightroom's wonderful split toning feature. I hope this helps, and don't hesitate to ask me any questions!
Split-toning a Dublin sunrise
One fine morning in Dublin, I was out and about and happened upon a beautiful sunrise. I share those photos today, and talk a little about split-toning and HDR as well. Enjoy the pics and if you get a chance to visit Dublin, take it! It's a beautiful city.
New York by night
How do you define street photography? Today I share a collection of evening shots from NYC and wonder a bit whether it fits the typical definition of street photography. It fits mine, but let me know what YOU think. Either way, the streets of NY are beautiful at night!
Getting creative in Copenhagen
Today's photos are a brief selection from my last visit to Copenhagen, which is a lovely city! I just wandered there a bit, and came home with a lot of photos that I really like. Plus I talk a little about split toning, which I am starting to experiment with more and more. Enjoy!
A different view of Austin
Today I share a few photos of the Austin skyline, taken from Lou Neff Point. It's a great spot to view the skyline, although not nearly as popular as some other spots, which means you might even have it to yourself!
A stunning sunset in the South of France
Does sleep ever with out over your desire to get out and shoot? Sometimes it does for me, but generally not when I travel. I often fight it off for as long as I can stand it, so that I can get in some more shots. Today's post is a few photos from a stunning sunset in Montpellier that I would have missed if I hadn't been so stubborn!
My plan for 2016
It's a New Year, and I'm already busy. I am planning on doing a lot this year, taking my photography business to new levels, and enjoying the heck out of it. Here's a personal post about what I am thinking. I welcome your feedback, and look forward to a productive 2016! Thanks for following along!
The cafe life in Paris
It's a big fat post about the cafes in Paris, yay! :-) I spent a week in Paris more than a year ago, and just got around to processing some of these shots. I started with one, then another, and ended up with 11 photos of cafes in Paris. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed being there taking them!
A night along South Congress Avenue
South Congress Avenue in downtown Austin is quite a fun place for photography. While I have often shot this area at sunrise, I recently changed things up a bit and shot in the evening instead. Here's a few pics to give you a taste of it! I hope you like neon!
Highlights from 2015
It's fun to look back on the year that just ended, and today's post is exactly that - a look back. 2015 was a year of photography, travel, and change - and I hope I did it justice in this summary. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy the review - there's a LOT here! Thanks for visiting my blog this year!
Catching a stunning sunset at The Oasis
Do you have a particular spot that you just NEVER feel like you get the right opportunity to photograph, yet everyone else DOES? I had one just like that until recently. It has eluded me for YEARS, but finally I was able to capture a stunning sunset at The Oasis. Read on my friends!
Sunrise on Barton Springs Road
Barton Springs Road in Austin is a little gem, with a few interesting little spots to photograph. Oh yeah, and right around the corner is our natural spring pool, too - another jewel in the crown, so to speak. Check out these recent sunrise photos and enjoy!
Falkirk Wheel
Falkirk, Scotland is a small town not too far from Glasgow, and well worth a trip over for exploring. The Falkirk Wheel is a boat lift technically, but really it's an engineering marvel and a very interesting thing to go see and photograph. Check it out!
Sunset at the Palace of Fine Arts
I return again to San Francisco in today's post - a gorgeous sunset at a gorgeous location, the Palace of Fine Arts. Oh, and I walked nearly 18 miles that day. Whew! Read on and enjoy the pics my friends!
A walk through Haight Ashbury
Ah, San Francisco - full of beauty and interestingness and some weirdness, too. Yep, the City by the Bay has a few spots that are a little different, and today I transport you to one of them. This is Haight Ashbury, which was at the center of the hippie counter-culture revolution way back in the 1960's. A lot has changed since then, but you can still feel the vibe in this most interesting district in San Francisco. Enjoy!
The fire dancers of Tivoli Gardens
Well, here's something you don't see everyday. It's a blog post from me with photos of people in it. Yep, real, live humans. Of course, they were swinging fire torches around and breathing fire into the night like a dragon, so I launched into full "extreme portrait" mode and fired away! It was awesome, too!
The beauty of Glasgow
Today on the blog I whisk you away to that lovely Scottish city, Glasgow. Some think it's "not all that", but I disagree. Here's a photo collection showing you some of the beauty in Glasgow!
