King's Cross Station

Well, back to another train station.  :-)

I can’t help it, I just love train stations in Europe.  There is something about them that just capture my imagination.  Perhaps it’s the thought of traveling - I don’t know.

This one is in London and is known as King’s Cross Station.  As you can see, I was there during a busy time of day with lots of folks heading this way and that.  That’s ok, I don’t mind really.  I’m just happy to be there.  While I prefer that my shots are completely devoid of people, it’s not always realistic to get a scene like that.

So, my opinion is to take the shot.  You can always try and arrange a visit at another time, but travel is unpredictable so I always take the shot if I can.

The other interesting thing about this station is that it is the one referred to in the Harry Potter movies.  If you read them, you will know about Platform 9 & 3/4.  While no such platform actually exists there, they do have a little monument of sorts to commemorate it.  There is a sign on a wall with that platform number, and a luggage cart which is halfway inserted into the wall.  Good times!
