Lightroom Made Easy - 3 Steps to Perfect Edits
If you are new to using Lightroom, it can be a bit overwhelming. There are a lot of tools available, and you can do a lot of different things to an image. It can get confusing about what to do, and when, and how. But it doesn’t have to be like that. It can be much simpler and less confusing.
Over the years I have developed an editing approach that works really well, regardless of the type of image you are editing. It’s focused on 3 key elements in the image: light, detail, and color. These are what I consider the major elements in any photograph (from an editing standpoint) and that is where I focus my attention when editing.
Additionally, I edit them in that order, although light is a constant and runs throughout the editing process.
In the below video, I walk through a full workflow demo using this approach, showing how I craft the light with masking tools, apply specific edits, and color grade for a final look. Follow along and see how powerful this approach is, and how easy you can adopt it in your own workflow.
