Grunge, London style
Today I share an image from a most interesting spot in lovely London - a grungy graffiti tunnel. It's not your normal London destination, but it's one of my personal favorites, and I share some thoughts on why I love this stuff so much.
Montpellier's Porte du Peyrou
Here's an arc de triomphe from France that you probably haven't heard of - it's in Montpellier. Sure, it's not as big as the more famous arc in Paris, but hey it's pretty awesome!
Nightfall in Brussels
A moody interpretation of a street scene from one of my favorite European cities, Brussels...
A night at Nyhavn
Nightfall at Nyhavn, the historic waterfront entertainment district in Copenhagen - and my favorite place to photograph in a city that is full of great spots.
The streets of Copenhagen
Exploring some side streets in Copenhagen, which is always a good time. As the saying goes, not all who wander are lost. Though I will admit, I get lost now and then. ;-)
Night at The Sorbonne
Today I take you on a nighttime visit to The Sorbonne in Paris - a gorgeous area of town that is lively and very photogenic. Come along!
London in monochrome
Today I share some images from London that I have converted to black and white. I love big colors, but I have to admit that using Tonality from Macphun has caused me to seriously reconsider my "color only" history. Take a look and let me know your thoughts! I think you will enjoy this!
An ode to Leadenhall Market
This is Leadenhall Market, and it's totally amazing. How's that for an intro? It's an awesome spot in London, but it's not a "big tourist" spot. Get off the beaten path a little and go see this. You can thank me later! (And it was used in the Harry Potter movies!)
Twilight at the Rijksmuseum
On my last trip to Amsterdam, I happened to show up at the Rijksmuseum at the right time for a stunning twilight and blue hour. Though sunset was non-existent, the rest of the magic hour was really beautiful!
Cruising a fjord in Norway
Taking a cruise in a fjord is something I have wanted to do for a long time, and it finally happened when I was in Norway last Fall. Here's the summary of that adventure, along with a bunch of pics showing you the majesty of Lysefjord. Sit back and enjoy!
Stacking presets in Aurora HDR Pro
Today I take a photo from Copenhagen and walk you through my workflow for creating this HDR. I use Aurora HDR Pro and create several layers in order to apply presets and selectively target them to specific parts of the photo. It may sound complicated, but it's easy! Join the fun!
Amsterdam is beautiful
There is just so much to photograph in Amsterdam - it's a very beautiful city. Today's post takes you along on a virtual tour of some of the sights, and I talk about how I created these images thanks to a couple of tricks that helped turn them from bright, sunny images to give more of a Fall look. Enjoy!
Twilight in Stavanger
Stavanger, Norway is a quaint but beautiful little town. I visited last Fall and today's photos were captured during a stunning blue hour there one evening. I wandered the streets and basically had it to myself. I wondered where everyone was, but wasn't complaining. Enjoy the pics!
Bits and bobs from London
Today I share some shots from various trips to London. I have been working to catch up on these things and move a little closer with today's post! London is a gorgeous city and I hope these photos help illustrate my love of it! Enjoy!
Split-toning a Dublin sunrise
One fine morning in Dublin, I was out and about and happened upon a beautiful sunrise. I share those photos today, and talk a little about split-toning and HDR as well. Enjoy the pics and if you get a chance to visit Dublin, take it! It's a beautiful city.
Getting creative in Copenhagen
Today's photos are a brief selection from my last visit to Copenhagen, which is a lovely city! I just wandered there a bit, and came home with a lot of photos that I really like. Plus I talk a little about split toning, which I am starting to experiment with more and more. Enjoy!
A stunning sunset in the South of France
Does sleep ever with out over your desire to get out and shoot? Sometimes it does for me, but generally not when I travel. I often fight it off for as long as I can stand it, so that I can get in some more shots. Today's post is a few photos from a stunning sunset in Montpellier that I would have missed if I hadn't been so stubborn!
The cafe life in Paris
It's a big fat post about the cafes in Paris, yay! :-) I spent a week in Paris more than a year ago, and just got around to processing some of these shots. I started with one, then another, and ended up with 11 photos of cafes in Paris. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed being there taking them!
Falkirk Wheel
Falkirk, Scotland is a small town not too far from Glasgow, and well worth a trip over for exploring. The Falkirk Wheel is a boat lift technically, but really it's an engineering marvel and a very interesting thing to go see and photograph. Check it out!
The fire dancers of Tivoli Gardens
Well, here's something you don't see everyday. It's a blog post from me with photos of people in it. Yep, real, live humans. Of course, they were swinging fire torches around and breathing fire into the night like a dragon, so I launched into full "extreme portrait" mode and fired away! It was awesome, too!
