Today I share 3 photos from my recent visit to NYC, though these are not photos of the "big stuff" there.  These are slices of the everyday, edited in a "gritty city" sort of style.  Enjoy!

A lovely Fall image from Central Park in New York City...

Here's a rather beautiful sunset that I captured last fall in New York, from the top of Rockefeller Center.  It's an incredible view of the city, and topping it off with some great light was like icing on the cake!

How do you define street photography?  Today I share a collection of evening shots from NYC and wonder a bit whether it fits the typical definition of street photography.  It fits mine, but let me know what YOU think.  Either way, the streets of NY are beautiful at night!

I found some incredible color in Central Park on my recent trip to New York - my timing was excellent.  And I covered about 20 miles on foot while photographing it - isn't it crazy how much walking you can do in that city?

Central Park in New York is pretty gorgeous at any time, but it really shines in the Fall when the leaves start changing colors.  Read about my recent trip there, see 6 different photos, and listen to me musing about using my new Sony camera and a small, nimble prime lens.  It's all good!

When you find yourself in a fabulous city like New York, and it's sunset, and you have your camera with you - it's time to fire away!  (hey Jim, that's obvious!)

But sometimes you get home and think about the shots you didn't take.  That's ok, and it does happen.  But it's also rewarding when you decide to change your habits and do something you never really do, and it works out great.  Here's 6 pics from Central Park where I changed things up and it worked out great.  Have a look!

I just got back from NYC, and brought home a few images as well.  It's a great town for that, though you can read my thoughts on NYC in this post.  In short, I like it, but don't love it.  However, I really enjoyed wandering in Central Park and firing off a bunch of photos!  Check 'em out!

For my trip to NYC, I had a list a mile long of things I wanted to shoot, and the Brooklyn Bridge was very near the top of that list.  While I didn't make it to all of them, I made sure I got here, and it was worth it!
