A trio of shots from my hometown of Austin today...and a little commentary on the idea of variety.

Today's post is a couple of shots from Bull Creek, here in Austin.  It's close to home, beautiful, and fun to shoot - especially when you get great light!

Sometimes it pays to drive 5 minutes from home, instead of flying halfway around the world.  You can find great stuff to shoot close to home, too!

Today's post is about The Mean-Eyed Cat Bar here in Austin, TX.  It's a pretty awesome looking place, if I do say so myself!  And I am glad to finally get this one marked off my list of places to shoot here!

Austin is a great town, and we like our weirdness...hence the town motto, "Keep Austin Weird".  Here's a couple of proof points for ya!

South Congress Avenue in downtown Austin is quite a fun place to shoot, and arriving at sunrise means you get it all to yourself!  Of course, you can't order a cupcake then, so that's no good.  But the photo-taking...yep, that's pretty good.

Luck comes in pretty handy sometimes, especially since we can't control the weather!  I showed up here one morning just as the light got perfect - I love it when my timing is good!
